Note that for Cherry there's a separate Jira RIC-528 item that suggests how to do this in Cherry's go implementation. We do not plan to align the python implementation (we now fix in Bronze and which we will also us in Cherry) to use the RMR enhancements we do in Cherry so that we can use a second RMR instance. This is as we expect that all python containers are already RMR users.
