SDL does not seem to throw any exception when shareddatalayer::SyncStorage::create() is unable to connect to Redis instance (for example when DBAAS_SERVICE_HOST is not set properly). On further use of the handle to lookup keys using findKeys() it freezes indefinitely.
There should be a way for an application to know if the connection was successful to gracefully handle the error and not freeze on further sdl calls.
